چکیده
Abstract The Kingdom of Bahrain has experienced accelerated development growth since the 1980s. These rapid land demands increased pressure on country area to rebuild urban centers and cities surrounding coast. purpose this research is detect investigate changes in use cover (LULC), which one most critical aspects planning managing as a natural resource. massive demand, particularly small-area countries like Bahrain, forces decision-makers re-plan main island areas (Bahrain, Muharraq, Sitra, Nabih Saleh). study focuses mapping LULC detection over 1986–2020. It employs an integrated approach remote sensing GIS (Geographic Information System) analyze evaluate islands using multi-temporal multispectral Landsat satellite imagery acquired 1986, 1994, 2000, 2005, 2013, 2020. In addition, high-resolution images different dates IKONOS GeoEye1 2011, Worldview3 2019, ASTER 2012, multiresolution seamless image database-MrSID 1998 were used enhance classification. Furthermore, ancillary data utilized adjust decision classes. supervised Maximum Likelihood Classifier (MLC) algorithms generate seven maps. seven-raster classification maps revealed overall accuracies exceeding 85%, Kappa statistics range between 87 95%. results indicate that increment built-up was dominant last 3 decades.

Spatio-temporal Land Use/land Cover Analysis of Murree Using Remote Sensing and Gis
1 Land use land cover (LULC) patterns are significantly effecting the urban/rural spaces in the encompassing areas. Murree being tourist resort is always under pressure of tourists from all over the country. The population increase in peak season of tourism in summer season and extreme winter, causes a tremendous growth and expansion of urban area of Murree. So a relic of blue pine forest and C...

This note concerns the updating of the land cover map of the Arno River basin (9.000 km) developed in the frame of a research project aimed at landslide risk assessment. The land cover map has been produced through the analysis of panchromatic/multispectral Landsat ETM+ images and TERRA-ASTER data; those data were integrated and compared with B/W and color ortho-photos. To improve photointerpre...
متن کاملThe Impact of Land Use/Land Cover Changes on Groundwater Resources Using Remote Sensing & GIS (Case Study: Khan-Mirza Plain)
Hydrological status and water table fluctuations are directly related to land use and/or land cover (LULC) changes in each area. In this research, the impact of LULC changes on groundwater quantity and quality of Khan-Mirza Plain, in the northern Karun watersheds, was investigated. For this purpose, Landsat 5, 7 and 8 satellite images and ETM and OLI sensors were employed to prepare the L...
متن کاملLand cover land use mapping and change detection analysis using geographic information system and remote sensing
Land cover/land use categories are relevant components in land management. Understanding how land cover/land use change over time is necessary to assess the consequences of humans and natural stressors on the earth’s environment and resources. The aim of the study was to map and monitor the spatial and temporal change in land cover/land use for the periods of 1977, 1991 and 2016 and to predict ...
متن کاملSimulation and prediction of land use and land cover change using GIS, remote sensing and CA-Markov model
This study analyzes the characteristics of land use/land cover change in Jordan’s Irbid governorate, 1984–2018, and predicts future land use/land cover for 2030 and 2050 using a cellular automata-Markov model. The results inform planners and decision makers of past and current spatial dynamics of land use/land cover change and predicted urban expansion, for a better understanding and successful...
